THE FIELD FOUNDATION awards grants only to institutions and agencies operating in the fields of urban and community affairs, culture, education, community welfare, health, and environment, that primarily serve the people of Chicago and suburban cook county with a particular focus on socioeconomically disadvantaged populations.
The Foundation accepts proposals three times throughout the year and is highly solicited by Chicago-based nonprofits; approximately 30% of all proposals are supported. Typically grants range in size from $5,000-$25,000 and the average grant size is $18,000. Preference is given to innovative approaches to addressing problems.
