Tyreece Williams
Tyreece comes from a lineage of working class, southern, Black folks who relocated to Chicago during the Great Migration—and have rooted themselves in Robbins, Illinois, to this day. He has spent the last several years providing administrative and programmatic support to organizations working at the intersection of the arts, culture, and social justice.
Before joining the Field Foundation, Tyreece worked as the program manager for Illinois Humanities’ Envisioning Justice initiative, which leverages the arts and humanities to envision alternatives to the enduring injustice of mass incarceration. In this role, he managed the program’s grantmaking portfolio and developed free, high-quality humanities experiences throughout Illinois designed to enrich individual and community-based visions of justice.
Prior to that, Tyreece worked in the non-profit sector as the administrative assistant for Snow City Arts, an organization that uses the arts to inspire and educate children and youth in hospitals.
Tyreece earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is committed to uplifting arts and cultural work in Chicago—inviting us to challenge the status quo and use our collective talents and resources to build more affirming, interconnected, and empowered communities.
