The Field Foundation is a private, independent foundation that supports community power building in Chicago by funding arts and culture, civic infrastructure, journalism and storytelling, and local leaders.
Through its grantmaking, the foundation collaborates with funding partners to distribute more than $11 million annually to organizations and leaders with a focus on the city’s South and West Sides, where our analysis indicates areas of greatest need. Key strategic partnerships make our grants and awards more substantial.
For example, our collaborations with the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation support signature programs, including A Road Together (ART) and the Leaders for a New Chicago Award, as well as our broader Journalism & Storytelling grantmaking.
